Strategic positional advantages of Curaçao

Curaçao’s strategic location as a deepwater port in the Caribbean allows it to receive large transoceanic tankers for refuelling, transshipment and distribution to and from Latin America, Asia and Europe. It is also well positioned for ancillary oil services such as inspection, maintenance and supply.

Our operations and services

The Emmastad and Bullenbaai terminals on the island of Curaçao are part of the facilities owned by 2BAYS Curaçao and operated by VIGOR Midstream.

These combined facilities provide essential support for both regional and international supply chains, enhancing operational efficiency and flexibility in petroleum logistics and the provision of services to the regional offshore oil and gas sector.

Emmastad

The Emmastad terminal and the Bullenbaai terminal offer a substantive storage capacity.

Bullenbaai

Bullenbaai is a deep-water port accessible to large transoceanic oil and gas tankers, including VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers) and ULCCs (Ultra Large Crude Carriers). It is connected with the Emmastad facility by two pipelines.

Deep‐water port

The terminals are able to receive large transoceanic tankers for refuelling and distribution purposes.

Trade routes

The Caribbean is an ideal hub for international trade flows, given its close proximity to the recently expanded Panama Canal and to the rapidly expanding oil fields off Guyana and Surinam.

Outside hurricane belt

The positioning of Curaçao outside the hurricane belt provides a major advantage compared to other Caribbean oil terminal facilities.

Multi‐purpose usage
